Frying Pan Anglers Guide School/Fishing Camp. With the completion of the Frying Pan River Lodge, we can now undertake something we have wanted to do for some time now. We are now conducting a Guide School/Fishing Camp (see below)in Basalt at our lodge at 100 Frying Pan Road Basalt. In addition we are offering a new Float Guide Certification Course (Click here) to those of you who are interested solely in getting rowing accreditation to become a float guide. Guide School/ Fishing Camp. The goal of this course is two-fold. Fishing Guides. If you want to be a fishing guide our goal is to qualify the applicant to be a wade guide in Colorado after 5 days. In addition, the first section of the course will qualify the guide for 25 hours of instruction towards being qualified as a float guide. The remaining 25 hours of qualified rowing ending in a rowing certification can be conducted over an additional 3 days of floating. In addition classes will be given in czech nymphing, spey casting and streamer fishing techniques. We will also have a formal discussion in marketing the fishing and guiding business. At the end of the course those completing satisfactorily and impressing our coaches will have the opportunity of applying for a guide position at one of our three shops. In addition we propose conducting a guide rowing accreditation course for those guides who are already guiding professionally and who just want to get a rowing accreditiation. Details of that new course are here. Fishing Camp. For those who don't want to be fishing guides but just want to spend a week with other like minded fishermen and fishing guides this is the perfect opportunity to just "hang out". You will spend the entire time with the guides in a range of circumstances and will have the opportunity to learn whatever you like which we can teach you. As noted above, we will be exploring a number of different techniques ranging from competitive rigs, to streamer fishing and spey casting. Our programme is a little more flexible for those who just want to attend a camp and so if you would prefer more wade fishing than floating that can be done as well.
